Learn About Us Air Fields

Constructing a full-sized airport, such as Albany International Airport is beyond the scope of projects we are willing to undertake. However, smaller-scale, community and specialty airfields are exciting projects to engage in.

In 1993, the city of Canton, MI requested that we construct a landing strip and hangar for small charter aircraft, radio-controlled aircraft clubs, and helicopters. We completed this project in 14 months, nearly 3 full months ahead of schedule, and $250,000 underbudget. The city granted us a maximum of $2.75 million to complete the project, and we were able to complete the airstrip, hangar, and heliport for a total of $2,495,000.

pontoon aircraft at our new facility 5 years later, we were approached with a proposal to design and build a wet airfield. This unique proposal came to use from a small town on the edge of Lake Champlain - Whitehall, NY. They wanted us to construct a hangar and dock for use by pontoon-equipped airplanes.

Such a project is exactly the type of venture that we at CEG excel at, and enjoy. The project was completed July 2000. The schedule demanded by Whitehall specified that the dock and hangar be available for use by Fall 2000, to allow tourists to enjoy the changing leaves of the Adirondacks of New York and the Green Mountains of Vermont. We also completed this project under-budget - by nearly $75,000. The project alotted no more than $1.31 million to be spent, and we are proud to say that this continued our track record of projects completed on-time, and on-budget.

And remember, at CEG, safety and quality are always a priority.
